NOTICE OF PUBLIC
HEARING AND PUBLIC
MEETING

Notice is hereby given
that the Greenwood Advi-
sory Plan Commission will
conduct a public hearing
to review the City of
Greenwoods Unified De-
velopment Ordinance
(UDO), zoning regulations,
and land development
regulations pursuant to
House Enrolled Act No.
1001 (HEA 1001), Chapter
4.3, Increasing Housing
Development.
The purpose of the pub-
lic hearing is to review the
Citys current UDO, zoning
regulations, and land de-
velopment rules with the
goal of identifying oppor-
tunities to increase hous-
ing development, including
consideration of factors
identified in HEA 1001,
such as increased oppor-
tunities for duplexes, tri-
plexes, fourplexes, acces-
sory dwelling units, manu-
factured and modular
housing, adaptive reuse of
commercial buildings for
residential purposes, in-
creased density and floor
area ratios, reduced regu-
latory barriers, and
streamlined development
processes.
The meeting will also
serve as a public meeting
to discuss and receive
public input regarding the
City of Greenwoods draft
Unified Development Ordi-
nance. Representatives
from Opticos Design will
be present to provide an
overview of the draft UDO
and participate in discus-
sion regarding the pro-
posed ordinance and its
approach to future devel-
opment within the City.
No action to amend or
adopt the Unified Develop-
ment Ordinance will be
taken at this meeting. The
meeting is intended to ful-
fill the public hearing re-
quirement of HEA 1001
and provide an opportunity
for public review, discus-
sion, and comment re-
garding the draft UDO and
housing-related regula-
tions.
The public hearing and
meeting will be held at
7:00 p.m. on September
28, 2026, in the Common
Council Chambers at the
Greenwood City Center,
300 South Madison Ave-
nue, Greenwood, Indiana.

Written comments sub-
mitted to the Planning Di-
rector before the meeting
will be considered, and
oral comments concerning
the HEA 1001 review and
draft UDO will be heard.
