NOTICE OF PUBLIC
HEARINGS BY THE
JOHNSON COUNTY
COUNCIL
Notice is hereby given
that the Johnson County
Council (the Council), as
the fiscal body of Johnson
County, Indiana (the
County), will, at meetings
to be held in the County
Annex located at 86 West
Court Street in Franklin,
Indiana, on September 14,
2026, at 6:00 p.m. local
time, and on October 12,
2026, at 6:00 p.m. local
time, conduct separate
public hearings on a pre-
liminary determination to
issue one or more series
of general obligation
bonds of the County (the
Bonds). The proposed
Bonds would be issued to
finance all or a portion of
the following: acquiring ve-
hicles, acquiring and in-
stalling certain equipment,
completing certain proj-
ects and making certain
improvements and reno-
vations, which is neces-
sary in order for the
County to fulfill certain of
its governmental functions
and responsibilities to the
taxpayers and residents of
the County, including with-
out limitation, improve-
ments to the Johnson
County Fairgrounds, park
improvements, acquisition
of highway equipment, ac-
quisition of maintenance
equipment, improvements
to the North Annex, and
certain technology up-
grades and equipment
(collectively, the Project).
The proposed Bonds will
be payable from ad
valorem property taxes
levied and collected on all
taxable property within the
County. At each public
hearing, the Council will
make certain information
available to the public re-
garding the proposed
Bonds and the Project as
required by law and will al-
low members of the public
to testify regarding the
preliminary determination
to issue the Bonds for the
Project. Following such
public hearings, the Coun-
cil may consider the adop-
tion of a resolution making
a preliminary determina-
tion on behalf of the
County to issue the Bonds
to finance the Project.
